From the beginning, CABĀ has been rooted in a simple idea: to create contemporary leather pieces with a distinct point of view, while preserving the value of making things by hand.
Crafted in Lebanon
Each CABĀ piece is handcrafted in Lebanon by artisans whose knowledge of leatherwork has been built through years of practice.
The process is deliberate. From cutting and assembling the leather to stitching, finishing the edges and placing the final details, every stage requires precision and a human touch.
Working this way means that production cannot—and should not—be rushed.
We produce in small quantities, allowing each piece to receive the attention it requires. It also means that behind every CABĀ bag are real hands, real techniques and the subtle variations that come with something made rather than manufactured at scale.
From Italian Leather to a Finished CABĀ
Our journey begins with the material.
CABĀ works with carefully selected Italian leathers chosen for their texture, character and the way they evolve with time. Once they arrive in Lebanon, they enter the hands of our artisans and slowly begin to take form.
A flat piece of leather is cut into individual components. Those pieces are prepared, assembled, stitched and finished before becoming the shapes that define CABĀ.
What may appear minimal from the outside often requires considerable work behind the scenes. Curves need to fall correctly. Proportions need to feel balanced. Handles need to sit naturally in the hand.
It is this relationship between material, design and craftsmanship that gives each piece its character.
The Beauty of the Human Hand
Leather is a natural material. It carries its own grain, texture and subtle variations, and working with it requires an understanding of how each hide behaves.
